If looks could kill.

Hello! What are you doing for New Years Eve? I decided last minute to spring for tickets to see Brand New in Atlantic City. I am very excited because they will be playing Your Favorite Weapon in its entirety. Today I started thinking though...what will I wear?

Fashion on New Years is important. Why? I'm not sure, but people get very stressed out about choosing an outfit. Here are two ideas that avoid excessive sequins.

NYE options

The first is casual, if you aren't into dresses or are going to a concert like me. A dress at a punk rock show is definitely not a good idea. My thought is a nice, but not too formal top with skinny jeans, comfy (yet fashionable) shoes and simple jewelry. Black & white with a pop of color is a great way to be festive for NYE without being over-the-top.

The outfit on the right is more dressy and perhaps my dream outfit. DO YOU SEE THAT DRESS? It's from Topshop and I would love to own it. Then again, when on earth would I wear it? Probably not often. Anyway, I paired it with black because that seems to fit with the NYE theme. I love the idea of wearing patterned tights with it.

What are your plans for New Years...and more importantly, what do you plan to wear?

  1. Have fun at the concert! The casual outfit looks fun for an event like that. Post photos after :)

  2. SO JEALOUS! I've never heard them play Mix Tape, Magazines, or Logan To Government Center live. Have fun!

  3. Sounds like so much fun! I love the dress on the right (and your ideas for pairing it!). I'm going to wear a sequined skirt (I'm one of those who loves a reason to excessively shimmer), but I have no idea what kind of top to pair it with, so... I think I'll figure that out this week! Happy New Year!

  4. I so wish I had gotten tickets to this show. Last time I saw them was at North Star when I didn't have tickets, but the bouncer felt bad for us and let us in any way. It was awesome. Have fun!

  5. Yes please, that dress is gorgeous! I feel the same way about so many outfits -- where would I ever wear them? Especially vintage dresses... it's hard for me not to feel like I'm playing dress up. Sigh.
