Chris & I headed to The House of Blues A.C., which if you've ever been, is exactly like what you see on the Jersey Shore which makes for some interesting people watching. I was much more excited about all of this than him (Brand New wasn't really his generation).
The show was sold out so there were so many people! And the crowd was horrible. Seriously, Brand New has some of the worst fans. I think it has to do with the fact that Jesse Lacey is a complete asshole, BUT I still love their music.
The acoustic set was great, as was the fan request set, but what I was most excited about was 'Your Favorite Weapon.' Which was amazing. I knew every single word and raged like I was in high school.
The set ended with the last song on the album, of course, Soco Amaretto Lime, which lined up perfectly with the countdown to midnight. It was so, so good.
It was great to ring in the new year with pop-punk and fellow fans, but that is for sure the last time I will pay to see Brand New live. They will never put on a show that will top this. I have seen 'Your Favorite Weapon' live and can now move on with my adult life.
Hello, 2012, I am ready for you!
How was your New Year's Eve? How did you celebrate?

Happy New Year Liz!! I am glad you had such a great night, I love the shot of the balloons :)
ReplyDeleteI went out for my roommates birthday downtown and had wonderful Indian food before heading to a bar for midnight. Pretty lowkey and just what I needed.
Now, move to Boulder please? ;)
SO JEALOUS! I heard that they played Untitled 5 during the fan requested-set. I've said it before but I'll say it again: I'd kill to see Mix Tape live. Sounds like you had a great night!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with a good NYE show :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Liz!
One of my favorite Brand New songs! Sounds like a fabulous NYE! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteDear God this version of Soco is perfect. It was always a song made for people to sing along to.
