Sucre is the solo project of Stacy King from Eisley and while I've never been a huge Eisley fan, I love this album. While it has the same melodic pop elements, it's more mature and feminine and includes a whimsical combination of instruments. It's dreamy and delicate, reminding me of a lazy spring day or the moment you begin to drift off to sleep. I've never heard an album this lovely, but it does remind me a bit of early Bjork.
Standout tracks: Hiding Out, When We Were Young, Stampede, Say Something and Chemical Reaction
Music has been less exciting to me recently, everything seems to sound the same, but this album is unique and just what I've been looking for.

I'm bored with music too, but I'm loving "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Thank you! xxx
ReplyDeleteKeeping with the solo project thing, I'm really loving Provincial by John K. Samson (Weakerthans)
ReplyDeletejust saw them last nite. soooooooo fantastic. :D
ReplyDeleteSurcre. YES. Have I mentioned your impeccable taste in music as of late? Well, here it is again... you know your stuff, friend!
ReplyDelete"When We Were Young" is a pretty nice song. I like the contrast of the lyrics and music- longing for a simpler time over a lighthearted background.
