The piano is not firewood yet.

Hello, hello! I wanted to share some new music that I am excited about that is also streaming on the Internet. I've been annoyed recently by people illegally downloading music, I know albums leak and CDs can be expensive, blah, blah, blah, lots of excuses. If you truly love a band and want to see them continue to make music, buy their albums! One of the reasons it's been bothering me so much lately is because so many artists are providing previews of their albums before they are released or making them available on Spotify, so you know if you love it or not before you buy it! Support musicians!

Anyway, stepping down from my soap box, here is some new music. I haven't finished listening to it all yet, so no reviews, just links for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!

  1. Oh my yes. I just got Regina's new album yesterday :) And I had NO IDEA that Metric has a new album! Thanks for the notification! So excited for new music.

  2. I love your blog, and I completely support the above statement, but I can't help myself from pointing out that until recently, you made all of your playlists downloadable to readers, thus enabling others to illegally download music and actively facilitating the process.

    1. I know I did. At the time I was convinced that by giving away a song or two from a band would help someone get to know the music. I've since switched to Spotify playlists.

  4. Loooove the new Regina! I'm also currently listening to the new Edward Sharpe which is pretty good, though not AMAZING like I had hoped! I'm going to check out the other two you mentioned as well :)

  6. I admit I used to be a music downloader. (shame) CD's were just too expensive. But now I take advantage of my library's music collection, share with friends and grab those $5 deals on Amazon. And Spotify of course. It may not be the same as buying them for $12 each but I justify it by giving them exposure on my blog. Great post. I'm excited about the new Regina Spektor! Haven't listened to it yet though.
